Privacy Policy

What We Collect

CareCoin is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

• Wallet address — only while connected, used to display your dashboard and donation history. Never stored on our servers.
• Local preferences — your cause preferences and donation history are stored in your browser's localStorage. We never see this data.

What We Don't Collect

• No email addresses or personal information
• No cookies or tracking pixels
• No analytics or third-party tracking scripts
• No account creation or passwords

Blockchain Transactions

Donations are sent directly from your wallet to charity wallets on the Ethereum blockchain. All transactions are public on-chain by nature. CareCoin does not process, store, or have access to your funds at any point.

Third-Party Services

We use the following external services:

• ReliefWeb API — to display active crises (no user data sent)
• CoinGecko API — for ETH price data (no user data sent)
• Superfluid Protocol — for streaming donations (on-chain, your wallet interacts directly)
• Infura / Alchemy — as Ethereum RPC providers (standard Web3 infrastructure)

Local Storage

All preferences and history are stored locally in the browser using localStorage. We do not maintain any server-side databases with user information. If you clear the browser's storage, all saved preferences and history are permanently removed. No backups exist on our end.

Security

CareCoin is served over HTTPS with strict Content Security Policy headers. We do not store private keys, seed phrases, or any sensitive wallet credentials. All transaction signing happens locally through MetaMask or your chosen wallet provider. We never have access to or custody of any funds.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of CareCoin after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
